In addition to her songwriting career, Tyler is both an actress and singer. Tyler began her singing career as a high school student in south Georgia. She went on to study with the late David Sorin Collyer in Manhattan while attending NYU. She has been performing ever since. Tyler is currently performing songs from her newest album, Sing Me Home, a joint venture with Onsite Therapeutic Workshops.
Tyler began her acting career in high school while a member of the Thomasville Music & Drama Troupe under the direction of Fred Allen. She then went on to study in New York and Los Angeles. After many years of working solely in the music industry, she landed the lead role of Flora Disney in the film As Dreamers Do. Tyler continues to pursue both music and film. She is looking forward to more work ‘on-screen’ in the future.
In 2012, after years of penning songs for celebrity recording artist, Tyler created THE SONG WORKSHOP, a creative therapy modality that uses songwriting as it’s principal tool. She continues this work in treatment centers, group therapy session, individual therapy sessions, and the like, within the continental United States.
Tyler served on the Board of Collegiate Recovery at the University of Georgia, where she is continuing her journey in helping those who struggle with addiction.
Raised in Thomasville, GA, Tyler ventured away from her Southern upbringing to attend New York University. She studied creative writing and music business, ultimately earning her BA and graduating with honors. After graduation, Tyler moved to Los Angeles, where she signed her first publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music. She then went on to write for Word Music Publishing, Big Loud Shirt, and Razor & Tie. In 2011, Tyler founded Bloom Big Songs, a music publishing company.
Tyler currently resides just outside of Nashville in Franklin, TN.
