Hello
I’m Tyler Hayes, a songwriter, singer, speaker, and author. I am so glad you have found your way to my site and hope you come back again. After many years of writing songs for numerous recording artists, I decided it was time to put out my own record and it is in the works as we speak. Stay tuned. Integrating my love for prose writing, I have been writing a blog for some time, I decided to write a book, Bloom, that reflected the stories behind the songs on the record. Stirring the pot, mixing up all of my favorite ingredients, I began using the songs and the stories in conjunction with inspirational speaking. The Bloom Project, still in its infancy, is the culmination of all the things I love and want to share with you as we journey on the road “of happy destiny”.
History of My Mission
How in the world do we CREATE THE LIFE WE LONG FOR? I’m not entirely sure, but I can tell you what I’ve figured out so far. For me, it started with two nuns from the Sisters of Mercy, two therapist, eight participants ( four British and four Americans (of which I was one) ), two dogs, and three volunteers at THE WELL OF MERCY in the hills of North Carolina. We worked for seven days. We handed in our everyday survival guides, our titles, our jobs, our ‘where you come from’ , our accolades, our grown up masks, and we got down to business… inside. It was there in the tears, the laughter, and the home-cooked meals that I began to ask myself some hard questions. What am I here for? What am I supposed to do with the days I’m given? What do I love? What inspires me? What do I miss? What do I secretly wish for? What question am I unwilling to ask, because I’m scared of the answer? WHAT IN THE HELL AM I AFRAID OF?
I was a few months away from my 34th birthday, divorced, carrying around some pretty nasty wounds from my childhood, and clutching to a slightly successful songwriting career, when I woke up. I realized, THIS IS MY LIFE and I can CREATE something amazing if I really want to. In that sacred circle of seekers, I decided to stop living like I was a victim. I decided to stop collecting evidence that I was un-loveable. I made a CHOICE to BLOOM.
This blog is my process, my path, and my story. Take what you like, and leave the rest. There are no rules and no judgment. You don’t have to believe in anything or anyone. You can be at the end of yourself, the end of your rope, and the end of the road. This is a safe place. No performances required. You don’t have to respond to anything, but you can ask me anything you want to. My commitment is to tell you the truth, to the best of my ability. My passion is to spark a flame and inspire a movement. This is the greatness movement. I will no longer live out of my wounds. I will not stay stuck in those hurt places that keep hurting me. I’m not putting a band-aid on them either. I’m letting go, healing, and moving on. If you’d like, we can do that together. We can embrace something bigger than the smallness of pain. We can open up. Open wide. We can BLOOM.
